Employees of EMC2 in Apex, North Carolina spend their Thursday afternoons tutoring 7th grade students. It is always amazing to walk into the tutoring room and see students working one on one with the tutors. Mrs. Daniels has faithfully provided tutoring services to all seventh grade students over the years. Stop by for a visit or help with that math concept you can’t quite figure out.

We are sending home progress reports this week. Parents please review the progress reports and sign them. Feel free to add a note or any questions you may have. You can also indicate if you would like to schedule a conference. You can also email us anytime. Our addresses are on the school website.

Thank you for all you do,v

We just finished reading “Mother to Son” written by Langston Hughes. We used his poem as a mentor poem and wrote our own versions of the poem. Here are several students reciting their poems.

There are many students that did not create their Google account. Student were give two weeks to create the account. Here is a tutorial video that will show you how to create the account, create a folder, upload your poem, and share your folder with me. It takes less than ten minutes. If you do not have a computer or internet connection, come to my class before school, during lunch, or after school.

Welcome to the seventh grade. Your very first assignment is to get some forms filled out by you and your parents. In order to get your locker you must turn in all of the required forms to your homeroom teacher. Here is the list of forms:

WCPSS Handbook
Agenda Signature Page
Parent Contact Form ( located on your team website)
Class Dojo Registration - this is to be completed by parent. You will receive a student and parent code. Create a Class Dojo account and enter the codes for all of your classes.

Here are the 134 EOG terms for Language Arts. We will have the vocabulary test next Friday. Ryan did a great job creating the flash cards for our team. Study 30 minutes a day, everyday for homework!

Karina made a study podcast for you to use to study the EOG terms., Simply define each term after Karina states the EOG term. After a moment Karina will then say the definition. Listen to this practice podcast several times this week. As you listen to is, make note of the terms you got correct and the ones you need to work on.
